Custard

Also known as Nigerian Custard (Breakfast Custard)

Powdered custard cooked in water or milk until smooth, eaten like ogi with akara, moi moi or bread. The book has ogi; it did not have this packet-custard breakfast.

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons of custard powder
  • 3 cups of water or milk
  • Sugar to taste
  • A pinch of nutmeg, optional

Method

    Mix the powder with a little cold liquid. Boil the rest, pour over, return to the pot and stir until thick and lump-free. Sweeten. Serve hot.
