Potato and Fish Porridge
Also known as Potato and Fish Porridge (Weeknight Irish Potato Pottage)
Irish potato cooked down with fresh or smoked fish, pepper and a little oil is a common Nigerian home pottage, especially for children. It is faster than yam porridge and is not in the original 463.

Ingredients
- 6 medium Irish potatoes, peeled and chunked
- 2 fresh or smoked fish steaks, cleaned
- 1 cooking spoon of palm oil or vegetable oil
- 2 tomatoes and 1 tatashe, blended
- 1 Atarodo, to taste
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 seasoning cube
- Salt to taste
- A handful of scent leaf or ugu, optional
Method

Rinse the potatoes. Put them in a pot with onion, pepper mix, oil, seasoning and enough water to almost cover.

Lay the fish on top. Cover and cook on medium heat until the potatoes are soft and beginning to break, 20 to 25 minutes. Do not stir hard or the fish will scatter.

Taste for salt. Fold in greens if using. Serve as a soft porridge.
