Bobozi

Also known as Bobozi (Abacha Mmiri / Wet Cassava Chips)

Igbo wet cassava chips, also called air condition: soaked shredded cassava eaten cold with coconut, groundnut or milk on hot days. It is not dry abacha salad.

Bobozi, Nigerian cooking

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of dried shredded cassava (abacha), soaked in cold water until just tender
  • Fresh coconut slices or roasted groundnuts
  • Sugar or condensed milk, to taste
  • Cold water or coconut water

Method

  1. 01

Soak the abacha until it is soft but still has a bite; drain extra water so it stays wet, not soupy.

  2. 02

Serve cold with coconut, groundnuts and a little sugar or milk.
